Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities 2010
Minimize

As the 2010 season approaches, we can see the beginning of a new future in the sport of Show Jumping. The season ahead promises to be one of the most exciting year’s in the history of the sport.

Last year we saw many wonderful finishes to the various leagues that took place with both new and old faces at the helm of those leagues. ShowjumpingIreland must extend the warmest appreciation to the shows that made all of this possible as it is with their support that the sport can grow to a new level.

There are many options for companies to get involved in this wonderful and breathtaking sport from pony classes through to the Premier Series or to boost the profile of a business at a local show. If you are interested in advertising your business and supporting show jumping, we would like to hear from you. Support at Regional level can be arranged with your local representative but if you wish to be associated with any of the main events on the National Calendar please contact the ShowjumpingIreland office on 045-852230.

ShowjumpingIreland would like to thank last year’s generous sponsors.

Pegus Horse Feeds Young Rider Development League
Minimize

ShowjumpingIreland are delighted to announce details of the Pegus Horse Feeds/Tiffen Developments Young Riders Development League.

The class, which will be run through the National Grand Prix League, will take in approximately 15 legs with a final being held at the Pony and Young Rider National Championships.  Although, it will take in qualifiers from the qualifying round of the Premier Series, the class will be mainly focused on the National Grand Prix.

Last year, in its inaugural year, the class was won by the late Benny Keuhnle, and took in many of the European Team members.  Keuhnle was the winner of a remarkable class which was watched by a large crowd that boasted the largest prize for a Young Rider Class in Europe.

This year, the prize fund for the final will again total €10,000 and it will be run on the same basis as last year.  The class will be run over two rounds with 25% going through to the jump off.  Riders will qualify by jumping in 1.40m classes in both the Young Riders section and the Senior Section, with 12 faults or less on two occasions.

This league is a wonderful opportunity for our Young Riders and over the last number of years they have shown how competitive they can be at the highest level.  Last year Young Riders had no fewer than five winners in the National Grand Prix League and of course Benny Keuhnle’s marvellous success in the Blessington Premier Series.  The Young Rider development league has been designed to further this success and bring our Young talent to the top in the years to come.

Pegus Horse Feeds have joined up this year with ShowjumpingIreland and Branding Manager David Stone jnr. is looking forward to the season; ‘’ Pegus Horse Feed is proud to support the PHF Young Rider Development League in which we see the future of the sport competing at the highest level.  In the early days, Pegus was one of the main supporters of Young Riders in this sport, and we now look forward to this continuing in 2009 and beyond.  To compete at the highest level, you need a High Quality Horse Feed.  Pegus Horse Feed, together with the SJI and the Development League look forward to seeing you throughout the season."

ShowjumpingIreland Young Rider Committee Chairman Taylor Vard is delighted to welcome both sponsors; ‘’I am delighted the class is going ahead with the same prize fund as last year.  The class will bring out our best young riders and is one that must not be missed.  I extend my thanks to both Pegus Horse Feeds and Tiffen Developments for their kind contributions.’’

Again sponsoring this year John Curran of Tiffen Developments said this following the announcement of the class; ‘’On the back of last year’s success, we are delighted to support again.  We had a wonderful winner last year in Benny Keuhnle and we hope that this class will bring many of our young riders to Grand Prix level and beyond.’’

Mackey Young Rider Bursary
Minimize

ShowjumpingIreland are delighted to announce that the Mackey Young Rider Training Bursary will take place again in 2009.  This is kindly sponsored by Mackey Ireland.

For 2009, the training clinic will be open to Young Riders as well as junior riders.  This is hoped to extend the already high standard of riders eligible for the clinic.  The clinic is planned to take place over two days in the autumn with a highly regarded International rider.

Riders will be selected from ten classes, which will be decided at a later date.  There will be ten riders and ten reserves chosen from 1.30m finals and Grand Prix.

Chairman of the ShowjumpingIreland Junior and Young Rider Committee Taylor Vard is delighted that the training will continue; ‘’I would like to welcome Mackey Ireland on board again for 2009.  This is a unique opportunity for all riders to become part of the Mackey Young Rider Team.’’

Managing Director of Mackey Ireland Jason Popplewell has similar sentiments; ‘’I am delighted to sponsor this event again for 2009, it is very important even in these harder times to look after our up and coming riders  , as they are the future in better times.”

After a successful training session with Billy Twomey in early January, a refresher course is being organised for the same selected riders which will take place in early April.  This will hopefully be a stepping stone for these riders in their preparation for the season ahead.
