4 year old competition
The global entry fee is €90 per horse, stable not compulsory and not included. Entries close on Thursday 25th August @ 5pm. Full entry fee is required at time of entry. €60 will be refunded should a horse be withdrawn before Friday 26th August @ 5pm - withdrawal must be made in writing to irishbreedersclassic@gmail.com. No substitutions of horses are allowed. Closing time strictly adhered to.

The competition each day will consist of one round with a time allowed. (Article 238.1.1)

All horses will compete in 3 rounds over 3 days. Horses on the lowest score will divide the prize fund equally. Should more than 6 horses be on lowest equal faults they will be asked to compete in a fourth round on the final day.

The class is open to riders of any nation and horses of any breed or country of birth.

€3,700 which will be divided among all horses on equal lowest penalties. A €300 bonus will be awarded to the horse on lowest penalties and is judged to have the most future potential.

Rules for 5 and 6 year old competition
All classes will be run as per SJI rules.
Horses must be registered with a studbook recognised by the Irish Department of Agriculture.

All horses must be born in Ireland and have documentation to prove so, i.e. Dam, Sire and breeder must be documented in passport. NB All passports for 5 and 6 year olds - the registered breeder on the passport must have an Irish address on the passport.

All horses must remain on site for the entire duration of the show. Any horses leaving the show grounds without permission will be automatically eliminated.

The top 25 horses or all double clears, after two qualifying rounds will proceed to the Grand Final with the reminder eligible for the consolation final.

Qualifying rounds will consist of one round with a time allowed. Article 238.1.1

In the event of equality of faults, cumulative time and faults over two qualifying rounds will decide.

A rider may ride an unlimited amount of horses in the qualifiers but may only ride a maximum of 2 horses in each age category and 3 overall in the Grand Final. Only in this case may a rider be substituted to ride a qualified horse in the final.

Both finals will consist of one round and a jump off in the event of more than one clear round. Article 238.2.2. This class is open to riders of any nation.

The global entry fee per horse is €350, this includes stabling, 2 qualifying rounds and the relevant final. Entries close on Thursday 25th August @ 5pm. Full entry fee is required at time of entry. €250 will be refunded should a horse be withdrawn before Friday 26th August @5pm - withdrawal must be made in writing to irishbreedersclassic@gmail.com. No substitutions of horses are allowed. All riders must use saddlecloths supplied by IBC in the Grand Final. Closing time will be strictly adhered to.

Prize fund breakdown for 5 and 6 year olds
€40,400 Grand Final
€5,000 Consolation Final
€3,000 distributed evenly 11th - 20th place in Grand Final
€1,400 to be evenly distributed (to a maximum of €140) between all other competitors that complete the first round of the Grand Final


€1,000 of the prize fund will be awarded to the breeder of the winner, kindly sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland.

5% of the above fund will be allocated to the breeder of the top 10 placed horses in the Grand Final

€5,000 of the prize fund will be awarded in the form of equestrian supplies vouchers

€300 prize fund in each IBC 5 & 6 y. o. qualifier
