Leinster Regional Course Designers Seminar

There will be a Leinster Regional Course Designers seminar held at Mullingar Equestrian Centre on 4th June 2010. This is the Friday of the CSI** International Show.  The seminar will take the format of a theory session from 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm approx followed by course walking and discussion of some of the tracks that will be built for the following days International and National Jumping classes.

This is an ideal opportunity for Course Designers who have not attended a seminar within the prescribed time frame to be placed back onto the Course Designers Listing and also for any others who wish to attend what will be a very informative seminar.

If you wish to attend this seminar please contact Catherine in the SJI office on 045 852230 by 5pm Monday 1st June 2010.

Fee of €20 per person is to be paid on the day to cover cost of seminar.


  

Course Designers Exams

Theory exams for Assistant to Regional and Regional to National status are once a year in the ShowjumpingIreland office. Course Designers must apply in writing to the office if they wish to take the exam and have an up to date log book which must be sent to the office before the exams.
Exam requirements –
Duration is 3 hours – recommended time allowed for questions is 2.15 hours and Course Plan time allowed is 45 minutes.
Course Plan must be drawn to scale.
Rule Books are allowed
Course Designers Guide and Distance Cards are not allowed
Course Plan is to include full details of class specified including jump off if required.

Unaffiliated Shows
The Association wishes to remind its Officials that assisting at unaffiliated Shows may have insurance implications and consideration should therefore be given before participation as such Shows.

Course Designers wishing to be upgraded to Senior National status
are not required to sit written exams. However this category of National Course Designer is required to submit their C.V. to the office, marked for the attention of Vikki Rybowska, in order to be independently assessed by the Course Designer’s Committee.
 
Senior National and Candidate International Course Designers who wish their name to be put forward in order to attend an International Seminar later in the year for the purposes of being upgraded should apply in writing to Vikki Rybowska in the ShowjumpingIreland office.

Course Designers wishing to upgrade
must submit their Log book with their application in order to sit the exams. Course Designers must bring
their Log Book to any Seminar they attend to be stamped by a member of the Course Designers Committee.
 
Course Designers of Assistant, Regional and National level
who wish to gain experience and upgrade their status may apply for financial assistance towards their travel costs to attend relevant shows in order to work under more experienced Course Designers at venues either inside or outside their region. Those wishing to avail of this financial assistance may apply to the ShowjumpingIreland office. A maximum of €75 per show and 2 claims per year. It should be noted this form must be signed by the Senior Course Designer and the Senior Judge officiating on the day.
 
Senior National and Candidate International Course Designers

Course Designers List

Also if they have not paid their membership to date they are not eligible to be placed on the current Course Designers list.

Venue Inspection
There will be Venue Inspection spot checks throughout the year.
