Horse Sport Ireland, the Royal Dublin Society and Teagasc are working together to outline a strategy for the sport horse sector of the Irish Equine industry for the period to 2025.

To aid the development of this strategy, the Irish Sport Horse Industry Strategy Committee will hold regional meetings for all those involved in the industry.

The strategy will outline the key actions needed:

(a)  to ensure that the sector contributes, to the maximum possible extent, to our export-led economic recovery and (b)  to increase the income of horse breeders, producers and the wider supply chain.

The objective of the meetings is to seek the input from those involved at various levels of the industry to deal with the challenges facing the sector.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine, Simon Coveney, TD will be in attendance at the meetings.

The venues and dates are as follows:

Wednesday, 26 March, in the Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, Co. Meath

Thursday, 3 April, in Hotel Kilkenny, College Road, Kilkenny

Friday, 4 April, in Carrigaline Court Hotel, Co. Cork

Tuesday,  8 April, in The Lady Gregory, Gort, Co. Galway

All those involved in the sport horse industry are encouraged to attend.

The meetings will commence at 7.30pm sharp each evening. We require those interested to confirm their attendance, by Monday, 24 March.
