The 2014 Horse Sport Ireland/Connolly’s RED MILLS Spring Tour is set for a thrilling finale this weekend, with Warrington Equestrian Centre in Kilkenny hosting the penultimate round of the series on Sunday, before the final round of the league takes place at Coilog near Naas in Co Kildare on bank holiday Monday.

Derry rider Daniel Coyle holds pole position ahead of the concluding two rounds, holding an eight point advantage over second placed Thomas O Brien from Galway, but with ten points on offer for the winner at Warrington and a further fifteen points up for grabs at the final round in Coilog, (which under national grand prix rules offers points and a half), the overall league title winner is still very much undecided.

If Coyle should indeed hold on at the top it would complete a remarkable hat-trick, having won the Spring Tour for the past two seasons, while Thomas O Brien is hoping to lift the trophy for the first time in 2014.

Forty-two horses and riders have declared for Sunday’s round in Kilkenny which is sponsored by Warrington Equestrian Centre, while Connolly’s RED MILLS sponsor the final league round at Coliog on Monday with seventy-four combinations set for action.

The Horse Sport Ireland/Connollys RED MILLS Spring Tour, is also supported by the Show Jumpers Club, ShowjumpingIreland, Castlefield Sport Horses, Thermatex, Platinum by Harry Dabbs, Darragh Equestrian Solutions, and Jumpinaction.net.
