Curran Conquers Cavan at the ninth leg of the Horseware/ TRM National Grand Prix League 2014

The Horseware/ TRM National Grand Prix League returned to Cavan this weekend where 53 starters took on the course built by Cavan equestrian's own Stuart Clarke.  19 clears went through to the jump off.

It was Emily Turkington and Willem who took the lead and it looked for some time like she would not be beaten.

Then Frank Curran and New World took a second and a half off her time to post the winning round.  New World is owned by John Curran and is by Tinka's boy out of a Laughton's Flight mare.

Last to go, Peter Smyth pulled out all the stops to record the fastest time of the class 38.89, it was not to be his day though as an unfortunate pole on the ground for last week's winner put him in 8th position with Victoria Rose.

Neal Fearon recorded two placings in the class 7th and 9th with two of his three rides in the class.  Greg Broderick was back in action this week to take third place while Damien Griffin took another placing with the ever consistent Tabby.

Up to today Vinny Byrne has held the top spot on the leading rider table and Mr Rockerfeller leads the horse table.

However, with ten legs left in The National Grand Prix league it is still all to play for , next week marks the half way stage of the league as it moves to Charleville show.
