Butler Makes His Mark at Kernan's Once More

For the third time in four years, Alexander Butler took home the GAIN/Alltech Autumn Grand Prix at Kernan's Equestrian Centre in Crossmaglen.

Winning this year with Will Wimble in the €3,000 contest sponsored by Golden Irish Eggs, Butler recorded the only double clear round of the competition to land the spoils. With the 10 points earned, the Meath native moves to joint second on the leaderboard alongside Cavan winner Michael Duffy. Dermott Lennon moves to the top of the table on 12 points following a sixth place finish this evening.

Ulster region Grand Prix League winner, Sophie Dalm can count herself unluck as she recorded the fastest time of the four jump off combinations but incurred four faults in doing so and had to settle for second place.

Edward Butler, older brother to Alexander, slotted into third with Crosstown Skylight with a single fence on the floor in 38.22. Incidentally, Crosstown Skylight was a previous winner of this Grand Prix when partnered by Alexander Butler.

Linda Courtney and the ever consistent HTwo took fourth place having had a fence down in the jump off and recorded a slightly slower time of 40.62.

Frank Curran was the fastest of those on four faults from the first round with New World to take fifth just ahead of the new GAIN/Alltech Autumn Grand Prix League leader Dermott Lennon and Derryinver Luxury Cruise in sixth.

The next leg of the GAIN/Alltech Autumn Grand Prix League takes place next Sunday at the very popular Northern Indoor Championships in Eglinton.
