Sweetnum takes top spot in the first leg of the Allianz Starfinder League

The first leg of the Allianz Starfinder League took place at Ard Chuin, Co. Mayo on Sunday (23rd April).

Abbie Sweetnum took first place on Perseus Spartacus (owned by Barra Sweetnum) with a double clear round in a time of 39.72, while Gavin Daly and Fernando (owned by Seamus Daly) completing the course with a clear round in 43.18 settled into second place.

Niamh McEvoy steered Fireman (owned by Maeve McEvoy) around the course in a time of 46.13 with no jumping faults, which saw them hold third position.  Pataire Crawford pushed Ardfry Remy (owned by Claire Crawford) into fourth place overall with a time of 47.70 and was the top placed 6 year old pony in the class.

Amy Reape and Ballyshiel Moonbeam (owned by Jonathan Reape) had an unfortunate fence down which kept in fifth position, just ahead of Francis Derwin, riding Kilroosky Boy (owned by Ann Derwin) who also had a fence down and a time of 53.47.

A fast time of 43.42, but unfortunately two fences down left Robyn Fagan on board Kilpatrick Shadow (owned by Clive Swindell) in seventh position.

With an unfortunate three fences down and a time of 48.44, Chloe Fagan and Boo Radley (owned by Alan Hynes) took up eight position overall.
