Burke and Garrigan successful at Cavan

Riders were out in force at the four day Cavan Equestrian show last weekend with very high entries in both the 1.35m and 1.40m sections of the TopSpec Autumn Grand Prix Series.

Emily Turkington and the Cormac McKay’s, Jay Gatzby stopped the clock in a time of 34.59 to secure third place.

Eddie Moloney steered Cruicerath Flexianna to a faultless round in the jump off to finish in a time of 34.75.

Philip Gaw added to his points on the leaderboard with two more when Ardnacashel Coovella stopped the clock in 36.63 with a double clear to slot into sixth position.

Gaw now holds a comfortable lead on the table with eighteen points, six ahead of the nearest rivals, John Floody and HTS Blackrock with twelve points and Luke Garrigan with MHS La Scala.

Luke Garrigan found victory clinching the top spot in the 1.40m section of the TopSpec Autumn Grand Prix, producing a double clear in a time of 44.71.

Hot on his heels was Neal Fearon and Goodluck VDL who just couldn’t quite clinch the win stopping the clock in 44.92.

Jamie Garland with Zedleppin was the last of the double clears in the line-up stopping the clock in a time of 53.23 to secure fourth position.

Posting the fastest time of the class was John Floody with Ballyknock Diamond when he rode through the finishing beams in a rime of 43.99, unfortunately, a pole on the ground cost Floody the win and had to settle for fifth place on the day.

Thomas O’Brien and Miss Darco completed the line-up with one fence down in a time of 44.07 leaving him in sixth postion.
