An exciting Saturday took place at Wexford Equestrian with the fifth leg of the TopSpec Autumn Grand Prix Series taking place.
The Wexford Equestrian leg of the TopSpec Autumn Grand Prix was kindly sponsored on the day with local support from Botanica and DPL Ireland.
The testing course built by John Doyle saw three double clears on the day.
The fastest of these was Paddy O’Donnell and his loyal mount, Minority Report who has had a very successful season winning the Leinster League and being placed at Hickstead International. The pair stopped the clock in the unbeatable time of 32.92.
Our National Young Rider Champion of both 2017 and 2018 fought valiantly to just miss out on the top spot with Cavalier Teaca when they crossed the line with all poles standing in just under a second slower than O’Donnell with a time of 32.92.
Edward Doyle and the Gina Prescott owned, Billy Guilder was the last of the double clears to slot into third position in a time of 38.72. An unfortunate fence down on Cruise More kept Doyle from side by side placings, and finished in fifth place with four faults and 38.48.
Another of our Young Riders, Nicholas Connors has found his way onto the TopSpec Autumn Series leaderboard with Adorable Du Talus, with one fence down in the second round, Connors clocked a time of 34.36 to leave him in fourth place.
Emily Horgan and Bua Gan Noctadh concluded the line up with four faults in a time of 40.49.
