Nallon takes 1.35m victory while McCarthy claims 1.40m

Ciaran Nallon proved the man to beat at Cavan Equestrian’s TopSpec 1.35m class this weekend.

The Young Rider and Bally Fair Deal came out on top with two foot perfect rounds stopping the clock in a time of 35.65.

Nallon was closely followed by Rapheal Lee who won the 1.35m at Maryville Equestrian with Captain Marko crossed the line in a time of 36.90 and had to settle for second place on the day. This time Lee was riding Jackie Lee’s Hashino.

Rocky Bond and Eddie Moloney line up into third place with a double clear in a time of 38.46 while Maura Counihan Jnr rode Killerisk Minnie to finish in fourth place with a time of 40.00.

Angela Percy and Five Star Quality stromed through the jump off track in a time of 41.25 to finish in fifth place with Tim McDonagh and Hollypark Galloway finishing the line up in sixth place with a double clear in a time of 41.74.

Oliver McCarthy swept in on Sunday evening with the GBBS Int Ltd. Owned Zuidam.  The fourteen year old stallion by Guidam has competed last year with Darragh Ryan and Adrienne Dixon.

McCarthy took the victory with a double clear in a time of 31.59.

Less than a second behind McCarthy was Robert Harrison and Rapheal Lee. Both riders stopped the clock on exactly 31.78 to be joint second in the line-up. Harrison was riding Landlystes Rubina and Lee was riding Oilean Dunlop.

With this placing, Harrison has now topped the leader board, closely contested by Jonathan Smyth and Liam O’Meara.

In fourth place was Erne Ladygoldilocks and Francis Connors, a combination that competed throughout the National Circuit this summer. Connors scored a double clear round, stopping the clock less than half a second behind the winner in a time of 32.08.

Louis Delplace steered Lowhill Showdown to a fifth place finish leaving all poles standing in a time of 32.31.

Clem McMahon and Carrow Indoctro were sixth place on the day with a time of 32.31.
