Carberry claims victory at Killossery

It was an exciting evening at Killossery Lodge to end their three-day show with the final class of the evening, the TopSpec Autumn Grand Prix keeping the spectators ring side until the very end.

The Killossery Lodge leg of this series was kindly sponsored on the day by KPMG.

Frank Glynn built a challenging course for the 43 starters with just ten of these being eligible for the second round.

The local man, Paul Carberry secured victory aboard Brandonview First Edition being the fastest of just two double clears on the day in a quick time of 32.40.

Hot on Carberry’s heels was young rider Patrick Hickey and his mount, Quandurina who was less than a second slower than his rival, in a time of 33.18 to settle for second place.

An unlucky fence down for our 2017 overall winner John Floody forced him into third place with Ballyknock Diamond with a speedy time of 32.71. Just a tenth of a second behind Floody was Jamie Landers and Valtor De Blagny who had one fence down in a time of 32.81 to finish in fourth place.

Tholm Keane who won this class at Killossery Lodge last year rode Delano W this time round to finish in fifth place with an unfortunate fence down and stopping the clock in 33.21.

The first pairing into the ring for the jump off was Jennifer Kuehnle and Tullibards Miss Optimistic put up a sharp time to test the other nine competitors. A fence down and a time of 33.89 left the young rider in sixth place.
