With 71 riders on the start list for leg two of The Showjumpers Club Spring Tour, it was going to be a tough class to come out on top.
Savannah Barry and the self-owned Flambeau beat off the competition with a double clear in a time of 36.54.
The Young Riders were out and ready for action, proving they are a force to be reckoned with taking second, third and fourth places in the line-up. The first of these was Daniel McAlinden and KMS Earl producing a double clear in a very fast time of 37.73.
Luke Garrigan was hot on his heels leaving less than a second between himself and McAlinden leaving all poles up and stopping the clock in a time of 38.48.
Our reigning National Young Rider Champion, Jack Ryan took up fourth place with Moneybroom Dancer crossing the line with a double clear in 38.59.
The last of our double clears on the day was from Mr. John Floody. No stranger to the pressure, Floody produced a faultless two rounds finishing in a time of 51.47 to secure fifth place.
A familiar combination on the Spring Tour circuit in 2018 is Frank Curran and Oliver Twister who concluded the line up with a clear first round but sadly an unfortunate fence on the ground in the second left him in sixth place in a time of 38.76.
The next leg of the Showjumpers Club Spring Tour will take place on Sunday, 3rd March at Broadmeadows Equestrian Centre.
