Simon Scott and Ploverfield Lilyana came out on top in the first leg of the 2019 Underwriting Exchange National Grand Prix at the Meadows Equestrian Centre last weekend.
The combination was the fastest of just six clears in a time of 37.87 out of over sixty starters on the day. Jonathan Smyth and Charlton Clio were just pipped at the post having a fast second round in a time of 38.69, less than a second behind Scott.
Rebecca McGoldrick and Duco took third position on the day with a time of 39.79. Harry Marshall and Chirokko M finished in fourth position with a double clear and crossing the line in 41.52.
Jack Ryan, who had three horses in the jump off finished in fifth place with Essenar High Hopes in a time of 49.48 and seventh with Cavalier Teaca with one fence on the floor, who would have won the class with the fastest time of the day at 36.10.
Kayleigh Soden and ARD Leaderman were the slowest of the double clears in a time of 49.77 to slot into sixth place on the day.
