GAIN & Alltech Support National Grand Prix with Three Year Deal

Showjumping Ireland are delighted to announced that GAIN Equine Nutrition and Alltech Ireland will become the new title sponsors for the National Grand Prix League. They have demonstrated their commitment to the sport by signing a three-year-contract.

This sponsorship will offer a prize fund of €4,000 per leg as well as  the introduction of live streaming for the series on Irish Sport TV. The live streaming will allow spectators to follow the league, while also provide a shop window for clients looking to buy and sell horses.The prize fund will encourage riders to compete at home and follow the league.

At the final, the overall winning combination of the league will take home €3,000, while the runner-up combination will receive €2,000 and the third -place combination, €1,000. The Leading Owner will also receive €1,000.

Horse Sport Ireland has also come on board, sponsoring the breeder’s section (for studbook registered horses only), offering €2,500 for the overall winning Breeder, €1,500 for the runner-up and €1,000 for third. The SJI Young Rider committee will also give a voucher to the leading Young Rider at each leg.

Current National Grand Prix Champion, Derek Mc Connell said, “This is a great boost for the industry as it has been a difficult time for full time riders. The fact that it is now also being live streamed will also help get more exposure for the sport. It’s a big commitment for GAIN Equine Nutrition and Alltech Ireland and their sponsorship is much appreciated by the riders, owners, breeders and by show jumping enthusiasts, who can’t attend events.”

Chairman of SJI National Competitions, Tommy Gibbons noted, “We are delighted that GAIN Equine Nutrition and Alltech Ireland have come on board and has agreed to a three-year contract. In these difficult times, it’s what the sport needs. We are one of only a few sports that has been able to keep professional riders competing and it has meant a lot to their professions. The fact that we now have a sponsor means that we can live stream rounds, which will open it up to those people that can’t attend events.
