Tholm Keane Steers Warrenstown You 2 to Autumn Grand Prix League Win
Tholm Keane and the evergreen stallion Warrenstown You 2 notched up another Grand Prix of 2013, this time in the sixth leg of the GAIN/Alltech Autumn Grand Prix League at Killossery Lodge Stud.

This gives Keane six Grand Prix wins this season with Ronan Tynan's charge with five of these coming in the National Grand Prix League in which the stallion claimed the Leading Horse Title for the second year in a row.

With 11 combinations making it into the jump off in the €3,000 class jointly sponsored by the host venue, Ringwood Construction and Jim and Symone Browne, Keane managed to put almost three seconds between him and his nearest rival, Edward Doyle.  Stopping the clock in 38.79, Keane collected the lions share of the prize money and the 10 points on offer to put him on the leaderboard.

Edward Doyle got closest to Keane with his home bred Stallion Samgemjee taking second breaking the beam at 41.11.

Former GAIN/Alltech Autumn Grand Prix League Champion Peter Smyth slotted in next best in third with Admiran Cassio.  This was the first time that this combination have made it into the prizes in a Grand Prix, keping a clean sheet in both rounds in a time of 42.34.

Currently lying second in the league table, Alexander Butler got some valuable points with the promising Monastery Stud More Pleasure with another double clear in 43.16.

Lady riders, Hayley Dunne and Olive Clarke completed the lineup with Flinstone De Tiji and Kofi Annan respectively.

Although Capt. Michael Kelly did not manage to make it into the top six this evening, he remains at the top of the leaderboard with just two legs remaining.  If Capt. Kelly is successful in the League, he will become the first ever Army Rider to claim a National Title.  He holds a slightly reduced lead over Alexander Butler, who finished fourth today, with just four points separating the pair.

The GAIN/Alltech Autumn Grand Prix League now moves to Wexford Equestrian Centre next Saturday before the final leg on November 8th at the Cavan International Horse Show.
