ShowjumpingIreland Launch Phase 1 and 2 of IT Revamp

ShowjumpingIreland this week launched the first two phases of a four phase project in upgrading it’s IT System with the launch of a new SJI Website and the move of the Bulletin to an Online and Mobile platform which will be available free of charge to everyone.

The final phases of the project will be live in January with an overhaul of the Online Registrations site and Points Online which will be integrated into the new SJI Website.  An Online Declarations system will also be launched in the same period, in time for the Spring Tour.

The new website brings on board many of the suggestions and recommendations received by members and puts the website beyond the current industry standards.  Taking in the navigation, colour scheme and interaction, the new site was completed by Margin Business Solutions in conjunction with a Spanish web developer, Disgrafic, who will both also be working on developing the final phases of the project.

Another major change is the movement of the ShowjumpingIreland Bulletin to Online.  The Bulletin will now be available free of charge through a web Service and also on a ShowjumpingIreland App which is available for download on Apple and Android for both Phone and Tablet, and developed by a Dublin based company, iGuide.  This move gives approximately €100,000 back to the members with the dissolution of a Bulletin fee and makes the Bulletin more accessible and available across the World.

These Apps will be available Free to download and with the Desktop version also free, the readership of the Bulletin is hoped to increase greatly.

ShowjumpingIreland General Manager, Philip Purcell commented on the recent changes; ‘’I am delighted to be able to launch the new ShowjumpingIreland Website and Online Bulletin.  We hope that our members enjoy using the new site and they can look forward to new innovations with the revamp of the Registrations and Points Online Sites, and the introduction of an Online Declarations System.

‘’Moving the Bulletin Online was a big decision but we feel that it will be justified as it will broaden the readership of the magazine and in turn give something back to the members.  It is a topic that was raised several times by members and we felt that this was the right time to make the change.

‘’I am very grateful to those in Margin Business Solutions, Disgrafic and iGuide and the Staff in SJI for their work on these projects and for having them live well in advance of their launch dates.’’

People can view the new SJI Website at www.sji.ie and also sign up for the Online Version of the Bulletin through the Website.  Users will have to subscribe, however, there are no fees or transactions involved.
