BALMORAL SHOW QUALIFYING DATES AND ADDITIONAL INFO

UNDER 10's CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS
17 March Cavan EC, 23 March Meadows EC; 6 April Portmore EC; 7 April Connell Hill EC

At presentation passports must be produced and microchips will be read for all qualifying animals.

NATIONAL HORSE AND AMATEUR SHOW JUMPING QUALIFIERS
16 March Portmore EC; 23 March Kernan EC; 6 April Meadows EC; 14 April Cavan EC
5 horse/athlete combinations will qualify in competitions SJ1-SJ3 and 7 horse/athlete combinations will qualify in SJ11 at each qualifying venue.
Athletes may not qualify more than two horses in each of the National competitions except the Amateur class where they may only qualify one horse.
When an athlete has reached their quote no further horses may be qualified.
At presentation passports must be produced and microchips will be read for all qualifying animals.

NATIONAL REGULATIONS
Hind Boots - Article 257N 2.4N. At all Jumping Events for Young Horses (four (4) five (5) six (6) seven (7) and eight (8) Year Old horses), only hind boots meeting the following description may be used:

The following criteria must be respected in relation to hind boots worn in young horse competitions:

All hind leg protections must have a maximum interior length of sixteen centimetres (16cm) and minimum exterior width of five centimetres (5cm)

The inside of the protection must be smooth. Only non-elastic Velcro fasteners are permitted; no hooks or straps may be used;

The rounded rigid part of the protection must be placed around the inside of the fetlock;

No additional elements may be added to or inserted into the boot itself, other than a protective skirt, providing it is soft and clearly intended for protection only.

Fetlock rings may be used for protective purposes providing they are properly adjusted and providing the total weight of equipment on the horse’s leg does not exceed 500 grams;

Substitutions - Entries must be the same combination as qualified i.e. horse and athlete. It will only be in the following circumstances that the athlete who qualified the animal will not ride that animal at the Balmoral Show.
[a] A bona fide sale and change of registered owner
[b] A proven injury – confirmed by medical certificate
[c] Other exceptional circumstances.
In all cases a change may only be allowed on written request, with the approval of the RUAS Show Director and the Show Jumping Committee Chairman. All changes in ownership, regardless of athlete change, must be done through the SJI office before Wednesday 8 May 2019.
If at any time between the qualifying date and the 22 April 2019 the horse/athlete combination who qualified is unable to jump at Balmoral Show he/she must notify Vickie White, RUAS immediately to enable the next placed horse/athlete combination at the relevant qualifying venue to be invited to enter. Failure to do so will result in entry fees not being returned.

Dismounted Athlete - If an athlete falls off involuntarily during a jumping competition and is due to compete in the same or another competition on the same day they must be certified by the Show Doctor as fit to ride. This applies to both National and International competitions.

Entry forms to be completed and full entry fees to be paid on the day of qualification to the RUAS representative present.
