Francis Derwin wins the opening Autumn Grand Prix
Francis Derwin and AHG Whiterock Cruise Down claimed the opening leg of the 1.40m Autumn Grand Prix in Mullingar, when they lodged the winning round of clear in 37.07. The pairing was fastest of six double clears in what was an eight-way jump-off. In total 31 combinations went to post in a bid to claim some of €6,000 prize fund. James Brennan and MHS Jersey Girl took the runner-up spot when he was fractions behind in a time of 37.25. Following good results in the National Grand Prix League, Niamh Mc Evoy was back in the line-up, taking third with My Diamant PD Z, when clear in 37.70 for third place. A clear from Antoine Devulder and Chich of Aranka in a time of 40.16 saw her take fourth, ahead of Kilkenny Junior rider, Emily Moloney and Temple Alice who also kept the poles in place in a time of 41.97. Completing the top six line-up was Edward Doyle Jnr and Quick Bill, when he crossed the line, clear in 43.31.
