Leinster 70cm Newcomer League 2026
Rules
- Open to 128/138/148 ponies.
- All league riders must be registered for 2026 for prizes.
- Fence Height: 70 cm.
- Fence height in the final 75cm (at the course builder's discretion).
- Riders must NOT have jumped 90cm or above.
- Combination of pony & rider must NOT have jumped 90cm or above.
- No restriction on ponies as long as above criteria is met and they are within
band height restrictions (where appropriate rules apply re downgrading).
- Open to riders 16 and under as per SJI rules riding 128/138/148 ponies
- Article to run under: Pony All 70 cms Not Timed Newcomers Article 274.5.1.8N Two Phase Modified - Not against the clock.
- Schedule must have: “Newcomer 70 - (incorporating Leinster Newcomer league
qualifier 70cm for 128/138/148 ponies)”.
- Class does not have doubles or combinations.
Qualification Criteria
- Jump 3 double clears in newcomers 70cm classes at any of the qualifying shows.
- Leinster riders only eligible for prizes at the final obtaining the qualification
above prior to entering the final.
- Final will run at the LEINSTER Pony Championships (DATE TBA).
- Prizes 1st - 6th and rosettes to all at final.
- Rug to rider and pony combination placed highest at the final with the most
clear rounds over the ALL THE DATES in classes.
- At shows the Class may run as a newcomers 70 class for riders of all regions
on the day but the Leinster final eligible riders will be gaining qualification.
- At final championships the class will be for those eligible for prizes with 3
double clears qualified prior.
- Rules changes and updates may occur at the discretion of the committee but
they will be posted here.
