1. Due to the success of the Youngster Tour Ireland & Five Stars Tour, the Winter Stars Tour aims to continue the momentum gained all summer & will aim to run in the same spirit of sportsmanship & on the same basic principles, with Tour Qualifying Shows & a Grand Final.

2. Due to the height band system & the graduation of courses, it will allow riders a wider choice of classes in a Main Arena setting.

3. Allow Irish Riders produce their horses compete at a level suitable for their development & have them ready for the Spring-Summer Season.

4. Allow those Riders that are show jumping, as their sport, to compete during the summer season on a league format, in a Main Arena setting, then giving them a prestigious Grand Final Weekend with good prize money & additional prizes.

5. Allow owners/riders to market & sell direct to a client, via use of the Tour's social media platforms & the Website.

CRITERIA FOR WINTER STARS HORSES & SHOWS 2021:

1. Open to all Showjumping Ireland Registered Riders & Horses, no Temporary Registrations accepted. Shows must be registered & competitors will jump under SJI Rules. All AGES & PASSPORTS are welcome to compete.

2. . The aim is to have 20 Tour Dates spread from October to end of March (4/5 dates/region, 1 show/month/region) with the Grand Finals at the end of March-early April before the Summer season kicks off.

The Five Star Tour Classes will be held in the Main Arena of the Qualifier Shows, and must run as independently advertised classes, not part of any height class.

3. All horses are eligible to compete on the Tour, irrelevant of GP status in 2021, the Tour should be seen as a step up league for those preparing for the season ahead.

4. Minimum of 3 Show appearances on the Tour qualifies you to enter for the Grand Final Weekend. A combination may jump at a variety of heights throughout the Tour but it is a total of 3 Tour Shows/combination that is necessary

. 5. All horses will be pre-entered for the Grand Finals & the rider that rode it on the 3 qualifying shows on the Tour is the rider eligible to ride it on the Grand Final Weekend. (If there is a legitimate sale or injury to the rider before the Festival weekend the owner/rider must contact the organiser before the entry is submitted for the Grand Final Weekend & a decision will be made by the Committee on the validity of the requested change of rider)

6. A rider can ride a maximum of 5 horse/class in the Grand Final Qualifiers & a Maximum of 2 horses in a Grand Final.

- A rider/horse combination may compete in only 1 Grand Final, therefore a rider/horse combination that may have qualified for 2 Grand Finals must then choose 1 of the Grand Finals & the next eligible combination will be given the Grand Final slot.

- If a rider has more than 2 horses qualified for any of the 5* Grand Finals it is the highest placed horses on the Result Sheets that will go forward to the Finals.

All standard SJI Protocols will stand for in relation to Veterinary Checks, Stipendary Stewarding, boots, Warm Up arena fence height & warm up practices etc. Unsportsmanlike behaviour will be dealt with by the Stipendary Stewards & the Ground Jury.

Tour Shows - Recommendations

1. THE WINTER STARS TOUR IS A STAND ALONE LEAGUE & IS NOT TO BE PART OF ANY LEAGUE RUN BY THE CENTRE. THE CLASSES ARE RUN INDEPENDENTLY & WILL NOT RUN AS PART OF HEIGHT CLASSES AT A SHOW.

2. THE MINIMUM PRIZE FUND RELATIVE TO THE ENTRY FEE STANDS, AS PER SJI RULES. THE TOUR CLASSES MUST BE ADVERTISED ON THE SJI LIVE SYSTEM AS SEPARATE CLASSES WITH THE MINIMUM PRIZE FUND & PAID OUT ACCORDINGLY.

3. THE WINTER STARS TOUR WILL BE RUN WITH THE SAME FORMAT AS THE OTHER TOURS WITH A E3/TICKET LEVY PAID BY RIDERS - WITH E1/TICKET GOING TO THE GRAND FINALS PRIZE MONEY & RUGS FOR THE QUALIFIERS AT THE FINALS & THE E2/TICKET GOING TO THE TOUR TO PAY IT'S EXPENSES & ALLOW ADDITIONAL PRIZES FOR THE GRAND FINALS.

4. THIS E3 LEVY/TICKET WILL BE ADDED ON TOP OF THE REGULAR SHOW CENTRE ENTRY FEE & WILL IN NO WAY AFFECT THE INCOME OF THE SHOW CENTRE.

5. THE SHOW CENTRE WILL BE INVOICED BY THE TOUR FOR THIS LEVY & IT IS REQUESTED THAT THEY BE PAID WITHIN 10 DAYS OF INVOICING.

6. THE TOUR WILL PROVIDE THE ROSETTES FOR THE TOUR SHOWS, 1ST-6TH FOR ALL THE TOUR CLASSES, THE SAME AS THE FIVE STARS TOUR.

7. THE TOUR WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ADVERTISE YOUR SHOWS ON SOCIAL MEDIA ETC AS PER THE YOUNGSTER TOUR & FIVE STARS TOUR.

8. All Tour classes will be run as a 2 Phase Class, modified class (Article 274.5.1 should cover this). It is recommended that the first 2 fences be at the lower level & then move to the maximum heights but with the doubles/combinations remaining at the lower level.

9. From the experience with the Five Stars Tour, the Winter Stars Tour shows should be run on a weekend date to maximise entries as the majority of the riders on this Tour will be Pro-Ams.

By returning an intent to run, & then confirming a Date for a Tour Show, you are therefore contracted to run under the Terms & Conditions laid out above.
