GERARD CLARKE CLAIMS SPRING TOUR AT BARNADOWN

Gerard Clarke showed once more that Barnadown has been a happy hunting ground for him and his horse, Horseware Kellswater Crimson, when winning the latest leg of the HSI/Blue Grass Spring Tour at the Gorey venue this evening.

On the son of Cruising, Meath based Clarke fended off the challenge from a strong Jump Off contingent including League Leader Daniel Coyle who had two horses clear.

Clarke however, proved best of all when stopping the clock in 37.33 over Alan Wade's track to run out an easy winner.

Army Equitation School rider, Capt. Michael Kelly was next best with Mullentine Loughall for the Minister for Defence, almost three seconds adrift of Clarke. Kelly also took fifth with Ringwood Glen.

Feaha Moore put her second set of points on the board with HTS Coille Mor Chin taking third in a time of 40.71.

League Leader Daniel Coyle collected four points for finishing fourth on Lady Porschell to move to 46 points with four legs remaining.

Young Rider, Emma O'Dwyer slotted into 6th with Vina Buller's Miss Tonic.

The next legs of the HSI/Blue Grass Spring Tour take place next week with Mullingar next Saturday and Clare Equestrian Centre on Sunday.
