NEW RULE: In the interests of Safety, the Executive Committee of ShowjumpingIreland has ruled as follows: Children in their 12th year can compete in horse competitions with 2 named horses and the required approval from 2 Level II Coaches up to 1.10m. Children in their 12th year can only compete at the 1.20m level in specific ‘Children on Horses’ competitions, again with the 2 horses named and two Level II Coach approval letters that have been received by the ShowjumpingIreland Office.

Conor Swail took centre stage on Sunday when winning the opening leg of the TRM/SJI Premier Series with Lansdowne at the Horseware Louth County Show while on Saturday, Cian O'Connor continued his good run of form winning the TRM National Grand Prix League at Louth with Da Vinci's Pride.
Cian O'Connor stole the show at Mullingar on Saturday winning the HSI/Blue Grass Spring Tour with Da Vinci's Pride. He almost did a double when finishing second to William McDonnell in Sunday's leg.
While abroad, the Irish Pony Team continued their success at Fontainbleau by winning Saturday's Nations Cup
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, has signed into law, a new order to require anyone who is the owner/person in charge of any premises in which horses or other equines (such as donkeys, ponies etc) are kept to register their premises with the Department. This Order completes the Department’s commitment to have a full register of premises on which all farmed animals are kept. Currently premises where cattle, sheep, pigs or poultry are kept must be registered.

It has been confirmed today, Friday, that Ireland have secured 2 Individual places at the 2012 London Olympics thanks to the very hard work and great results from Billy Twomey and Denis Lynch. The Irish Eventers have also secured places in London with a team of 3 Riders currently qualified and further 2 in the 1st and 3rd reserve places. Congratulations to all involved.

NATIONAL anti-doping rules for all equestrian disciplines have been introduced in Ireland for the first time. The new rules were passed unanimously at a board meeting of Horse Sport Ireland on Friday. The rules will come into effect in equestrian disciplines in Ireland from April 1st next.
